Just as fun as sailing itself is helping others enjoy the sport for themselves.
Below are some of the coaching activities I've been involved with. The great thing about coaching is that, as with any kind of teaching, the teacher usually learns just as much as the students. These used to be on my extended resume, hence the resume-like format.


Coach

May 1995  - May 1996

Singapore Olympic Team , Singapore

  • Prepared Singapore's 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games representative in Sailing ( Laser class )
  • Conducted drills, speed trials, and practice races
  • Provided analysis and feedback for performance improvement

  

Founder / Organizer

September  1991 - May 1994

San Francisco Collegiate Regatta, San Francisco, California

  • Conceived, developed, and implemented comprehensive, annual sailing competition for college sailors
  • Brought together thirty teams from around the United States to the challenging San Francisco Cityfront
  • Secured ongoing funding for event

  

Coach

June  1988 - September 1988

Northern California Youth Sailing Association, San Francisco

  • Prepared over 200 young sailors for national -  international class racing
  • Students included National Women's Youth Sailing  champion and U.S. Junior Sailing Team members
